VX spark plugs (Platinum plugs)

Platinum plugs provide increased service life and ignition reliability when operating conditions are difficult. They offer the following advantages: 

The platinum material (precious metal) allows a very thin center electrode to be used. Because of this the required ignition voltage can be reduced and thereby a high ignition reliability is achieved. Due to the shape of the electrodes, good mixture accessibility and stable combustion are obtained.

Platinum electrodes provide high temperature and erosion resistance, i.e., the wear rate is low. Compared with standard spark plugs at least double service life can be expected.
