Spark plugs with supplementary spark gap



In NGK spark plugs with supplementary spark gap the ignition voltage will in case of major carbon deposits first flow via the insulator tip and then flash, forming an ignition spark, at the point where the spark plug shell is closest to the insulator tip (1). The fuel-air mixture is problem-free inflamed and, the engine will start immediately.
