The basis of NGK’s research and development work is the technical centre put opened in Ratingen near Düsseldorf in 1990. It has state of the art testing facilities, which are optimally designed to meet all the automobile industry’s requirements. Three modern engine benches for endurance and application tests. A controlled environment chamber, in which vehicles can be tested under extreme   conditions from + 40°C to – 30°C, e.g. to test their cold start performance.  Extensive facilities for carrying out complete exhaust gas studies.
